Absolutely! It’s completely natural to feel that way, and rest assured, we understand because we’ve been in your shoes.

One of the most remarkable aspects of our tours is how our travelers form close bonds and become like one big, tightly-knit family by the end of the journey.

We have witnessed individuals who were part of the same tour group with us a year ago, and they are still traveling the world together today! Everyone is in the same situation, embarking on a shared adventure, and you will undoubtedly make lifelong friends during your Melbourne Gap Year intro tour.

Certainly! If your purpose of visiting Australia is for tourism, you will require a Visitor Visa.

However, if you plan to work while on your holiday, you will need either a Working Holiday Visa Australia (subclass 417) or a Work and Holiday Visa Australia (subclass 462), depending on your country of origin. Check your eligibility HERE

For further details and a comprehensive list of the different visa options available, you can refer to the provided link HERE.

We advise you to arrange your visa as early as possible.

You can complete the application either through your travel agent or directly on the Australian Government website. For more information about the visa, please click HERE.

It is always recommended to visit the Australian Government website for any specific inquiries and to stay updated on the latest information.

Definitely! Your purpose for visiting this magnificent country, whether it’s for work, visiting loved ones, studying, immersing yourself in nature, or mastering the Australian accent, doesn’t affect the incredible package we offer. Regardless of your intentions, all our travelers receive the complete package: a lifelong membership to our delightful travel family, a week filled with delicious food, cherished friendships, and boundless fun, along with any support you may require throughout your journey.

Approximately 70% of the individuals on our Melbourne Gap Year intro tour are solo travelers. It’s important to note that this tour offers a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people and embark on new experiences together. Many of our travelers have formed lifelong friendships during our Gap Year tours.

Our Melbourne Gap Year intro tours cater for people aged 18-39 years old. The average age varies each week and that’s what we love about it.

Expect for an extraordinary experience! With politeness and friendliness, you’ll have an amazing time. To maximize your experience, we suggest initiating conversations with fellow dorm mates as soon as possible. Meeting new people is a significant aspect of travel that broadens your horizons. Listen to their travel stories, favorite destinations, recommendations, and hilarious anecdotes. Before you know it, you’ll have your own collection of captivating tales to share!

Rest assured, all dorms are equipped with lockers. However, you’ll need to purchase a small padlock to secure your belongings.

Our aim is to accommodate everyone on the Melbourne Gap Year intro tour in the same dorm. However, if you have any special requests such as an all-female dorm or upgrading to a private room, we are here to assist you.

You sure can! We create a WhatsApp group chat the week leading up to the tour.

Yes! You just need to let us know who you’re travelling with beforehand and we’ll make sure you’re in the same room.

Certainly! If you inform us about the individuals you’re traveling with, we will ensure that you are assigned to the same room. If you prefer to upgrade to a private room, you have the option to do so on the Extras section of the tour page.

Absolutely! You can conveniently do this at the time of booking by selecting the corresponding options on the tour page. If you prefer, you can also add them closer to the tour date. We will send you an email four weeks before the tour to inquire if you would like to include any additional nights.

Certainly! We highly recommend booking an additional two nights after the tour. You can conveniently do this at the time of booking by selecting the corresponding options on the tour page. Alternatively, if you prefer to add them on at a later date, you can do so. We will send you an email four weeks before the tour, where we’ll inquire if you’d like to include any extra nights in your booking.

Our package includes a generous number of meals, along with delightful tastings. In addition to that, you can expect to find lunch options ranging from $6 to $15, and dinner options from $10 to $20. If you’re looking to save some money, teaming up with fellow travelers and preparing dinners at the hostel is a great idea!

For drinks, you can typically expect prices between $7 and $11. However, we can guide you to plenty of establishments with happy hours where drinks are available for $5 to $6.

Considering that accommodation, activities, and some food and drink are already covered in the package, we would recommend budgeting around $200 to $250 for extra spending money during your week with us.

The amount of money you’ll need for your trip to Australia depends on various factors such as the duration of your trip, your travel style (backpacker or flashpacker), and the experiences you wish to have.

According to the Australian Government, if you’re arriving on a Working Holiday visa, it’s recommended to have $5,000 AUD in your bank account upon arrival. This serves as a good savings target if you plan to travel for about a month or if you intend to set yourself up for work and living in Australia after the Melbourne Gap Year intro week.

However, everyone’s financial situation and travel goals differ. To maximize your opportunities and make the most of your time in Australia, we recommend saving as much as possible before embarking on your journey. This will give you the best chance of experiencing a wide range of activities and adventures throughout your time in the country.

Exclusive tips: Best way to transfer money to Australia

To confirm your booking, a 10% deposit is necessary. Don’t worry! The full payment is only required 40 days before your departure date, allowing you ample time to save up for it.

However, if you happen to make a booking within 40 days of your departure date, the full amount will be required at the time of booking.

As soon as you’ve made the decision to come to Australia and want to ensure the best possible welcome, we highly recommend placing your 10% deposit right away. This is particularly important because we offer free date changes, providing flexibility for your travel plans.

Please note that our Melbourne Gap Year intro tour is frequently fully booked up to 2 months in advance, so securing your spot early is essential.

Yes! If you pay your deposit and later realise you have to change your date, don’t panic.

You can change the date of your booking, unlimited times and subject to availability, up until 28 days before your departure date. Read more: Booking Policy

Additionally, we send out a weekly update email that showcases the latest job and farm work opportunities we come across, keeping you informed and connected to new possibilities.

Your Australian SIM card will be provided to you during the meet and greet session on the morning of the tour, depending on when you arrive.

No need to worry! Prior to receiving your SIM card, you can take advantage of the free Wi-Fi available at the hostel and airport. This way, you can easily connect with your loved ones back home and let them know that you’ve arrived safely in Sydney.

The Tax File Number (TFN) is an individual identification number issued by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). It is a crucial requirement for individuals who intend to work in Australia, as it ensures accurate taxation of your income from the very beginning.

During your time in Australia, you will need to provide your TFN to every employer you work for. Your tax deductions will then be calculated and deducted from your wages in a similar manner to how it would be done in your home country.

If you’re visiting Australia as a tourist for a short duration of a few weeks, there’s no need to worry about opening a bank account. A pre-loaded travel cash card will suffice for your financial needs during your trip.

However, if you’re planning to stay in Australia for an extended period, such as on a Working Holiday Visa, it is highly recommended to open an Australian bank account. This will help you save significantly on exchange and transaction fees, and it’s also necessary for employers to pay your wages directly into an Australian account. Don’t worry, the process of opening a bank account is straightforward, and we will assist you with organizing it.

To expedite the entire process, you can consider creating a Wise (formerly Transferwise) account, which will allow you to have Australian dollars in your account before your arrival. With Wise account, you can easily transfer money from your home country’s bank account to your Australian bank account, and vice versa.
